The wild Peony from Dobrogea (Paeonia peregrina romanica) is only one of the almost 1900 species of plants that can be found in the southeastern part of Romania, in Macin mountains. It is a very rare and protected species, since before the second world war.
It blooms in May but lasts for a short period of time. Therefore, plan your hiking tour here and make sure you go there with local guides who know the exact places where you can find this wild and beautiful flower.
