If you don’t know what to do in Bran and the surroundings, you need to know that there’s much more to see and do here than visiting the famous Dracula’s castle. In case you’re here only for the legend, make sure you visit the nearby Bran National Museum, where you will see most of the exhibits that used to be in the castle, including beautifully sculpted furniture, costumes and daily objects used by people centuries ago. It’s easy to find it. Just go across the park and you’ll be there in two minutes. Its location is here.
If you’re in Brasov or in the surroundings for more days and you consider yourself fit for pedaling, why not try a cycling tour around here?
The landscape is stunning in every direction you’re looking. Either you’re coming from the nearby town of Rasnov, taking a forest road down to Bran or exploring the rolling hills in Moeciu or Magura and Pestera with their scattered houses, you will surely enjoy this part of Transylvania.
From Bran, you can choose to go towards the nearby city of Zărnești, situated at the foothills of the Piatra Craiului mountains. From here, you have various routes: to the village of Poiana Mărului, on a beautiful low traffic paved road, to Plaiu Foii, a scenic hut with a gorgeous landscape or climb to the Zarnești Gorges, with its massive cliffs and limestone walls.
